The Jackson Township Recreation Department is seeking Junior Basketball Referees for the upcoming youth basketball season. This is a seasonal opportunity that may be a great fit for high school students and others who enjoy basketball and are interested in gaining experience officiating youth games. Responsibilities The Junior Basketball Referee is responsible for assisting with officiating youth basketball games in a safe, fair, and positive environment. Responsibilities include: Officiating assigned youth basketball games. Applying established basketball rules and league guidelines. Helping maintain a safe, fair, and positive environment for players. Working cooperatively with other referees, coaches, and Recreation Department staff. Maintaining appropriate conduct and professionalism during games. Following Recreation Department procedures and direction. Qualifications Must be at least 15 years of age. Knowledge of basketball and basic game rules is preferred. Must be dependable and able to communicate effectively with players, coaches, officials, and Recreation Department staff. Must be available to work scheduled Saturday games. No certification required. Training will be provided.
